TREE MANAGEMENT

With over 820,000 trees lining Canberra’s streets and median strips, shading its parks and public spaces, and enhancing its private land, tree maintenance in our city calls for a concentrated effort. In line with the ACT Government’s Urban Forest Strategy, our focus is to support you in liaising with relevant parties as you navigate the protection laws, programs, events and initiatives affecting the trees on your property or development.

Tree Management Plans involve detailed drawings and documentation citing how the trees on and around your site will be protected, managed and maintained for the duration of your project.

This documentation is compulsory as part of the ACT Government’s development application approval processes where activities could affect a protected tree. The plan also serves as a communication tool between you, your project team, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, to ensure everyone involved understands and agrees on how tree preservation and management will be upheld at every stage.

Push on with a clear plan in place.

The ACT Government recommends engaging a consulting arborist to develop a Tree Management Plan for your project. Tailored to the needs and requirements of your specific project, this plan will guide the responsible management and protection of your trees for regulatory compliance and sustainable development. Our experts can advise you on how best to safeguard your trees as your project progresses, including Tree Protection Zones. Ongoing maintenance practices that are essential for ensuring the health and longevity of protected trees are also considered. We can assist you in seeking the clearance you need to manage and mitigate the impacts of your work.
